Soilathon 1: Connecting Territories and Defining Challenges

Who decides how soil, land and food systems are cared for? This opening session introduces soil democracy through participatory dilemmas, collective reflection and dialogue.

Building on the priorities emerging from Crossing Territories #2, participants explore connections between their territories: shared pressures, important differences and opportunities for reciprocal learning. Teams then select a mandate and turn it into a focused challenge, identifying affected communities, existing responses, relevant decision-makers and the change they want to achieve.

The session will produce a map of territorial connections and one agreed challenge statement per team, providing the foundation for the next stages of the Soilathon.
