Aligning local action with the living realities of soil
If the Community of Practice is the beating heart of the network, the Stewardship Assemblies are its circulating system. They carry ideas, experiences and commitments across territories, ensuring that action remains grounded in the specific realities of each place โ its soil, landscapes, communities and challenges.
Across seven countries, public authorities are convening multi-actor Stewardship Assemblies bringing together local stakeholders committed to strengthening soil stewardship and soil literacy. Each Assembly gathers a diverse group of participants who collaborate, learn from peers, and translate shared knowledge into concrete local action.
First comes an immersion phase, where municipalities and local partners organise their operational committees and begin connecting with the wider network.
This is followed by a twinning programme, where Assembly members visit another municipality to exchange experiences, explore local challenges, and document good practices through peer learning and collective observation.
Participants then join a training-action programme, combining shared online learning sessions with hands-on experimentation. In this phase, each Assembly designs a tailored local action plan, supported by expert advisors and enriched by exchanges with other territories.
Finally, the Assemblies move from planning to implementation, testing at least one concrete action locally.
