How can practical soil knowledge support responses that work in different territories? This session connects farmer-to-farmer learning with the challenges defined during the Soilathon’s opening session.
A knowledge-sharing contribution from Souleymane will explore locally appropriate restoration practices, including composting, zaï pits, half-moons and rainwater harvesting. Participants will discuss the resources, capacities and local conditions that influence how these practices can be adopted and adapted.
Small-group exchanges will address teams’ questions about soil practices, access to land, community education, participation and cooperation. Teams will then begin developing a practical territorial response, outlining how it could work, who would participate and what support it would require.
The session will produce an initial prototype, storyboard or action map for each team.
