This meet-up brings together the Nantes Stewardship Assembly and Sara Di Lonardo’s REUSES project to exchange experiences, methods and possible synergies around urban soils, soil literacy and public engagement.
Nantes will present its pathway as a major urban centre recognised for sustainability and innovation, with work that connects soil literacy to schools, public spaces and community initiatives.
Sara will present the REUSES project, which focuses on reclaiming urban sealed soils and translating scientific research into accessible knowledge.
The session will create space for both projects to share their approaches, identify common challenges, and explore how educational activities, municipal strategies and community-based soil initiatives can reinforce each other. It will also help identify examples, resources and formats that could inspire future SoilTribes knowledge products and local action planning.
Objectives of the meet-up:
Present the Nantes pathway and its work on soil literacy
Present the REUSES project
Exchange methods, examples and lessons learned between both initiatives
Explore possible connections around public spaces, soil unsealing, climate adaptation and ecosystem services
Identify useful resources, case studies or communication formats for the wider SoilTribes community
This meet-up is intended as a practical peer-learning space where municipalities, educators, researchers and community actors can learn from each other and strengthen shared approaches to urban soil stewardship.
